About

My name is Clémentine Cottineau. I am an urban geographer with some economics and complexity science background. My research project aims at modelling the dynamics of urban inequality with a combination of generative mechanisms (e.g. inheritance, neighbourhood effects, discrimination) within a nested structure of geographical scales (e.g. the world, nations, cities, neighbourhoods…). I work as an assistant professor in Urban Studies at TU Delft Urbanism and am a CNRS researcher. This blog is part of a multidisciplinary literature review on the state of current socioeconomic inequalities (at different scales); of the theoretical mechanisms explaining their dynamics; and of the policies proposed to curb them. I wish to share (and discuss) my reading list and reading notes with whoever is interested in the subject.
